It’s time to talk about money (you know you want to)

I am a one man band and don’t have the overheads of many ‘handyman’ companies who, in fact, employ many handymen. So my rates are not inflated to cover costs.

My USP (unique selling point) is that as a sole trader I provide great customer service, with a one to one service throughout. I don’t advertise and all my work is through word of mouth recommendation. As such, I ensure that the quality of my work is paramount. I also commit to providing an extremely reliable service. If I make an appointment with you, I guarantee to be there at that date and time.

If however, in the very rare situation that I can not attend the appointment, I will phone to let you know and re-arrange the call to your earliest convenience. I believe in communication with the customer at all times.

Now what was I talking about? Oh yes, money (must get that bit right!).

The above being said, I just charge the industry standard pricing, which is as follows:-

Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm

I charge £40 for the first hour (or part thereof) and £40 for any subsequent full hours work.

Any time spent that doesn’t add up to a full hour will be pro rated on £40 e.g. 1/2 hour = £20, 3/4 hour = £30 etc.

Early weekday mornings (7:00-9am) / Weekday Evenings (from 5pm)/Saturdays

I charge £50 for the first hour (or part thereof) and £50 for any subsequent full hours work.

Any time spent that doesn’t add up to a full hour will be pro rated on £50 e.g. 1/2 hour = £25, 3/4 hour = £37.50 etc.

As I am a small business, my turnover is below the VAT threshold and therefore I do not charge VAT.

I do not charge a call out fee. I will provide a free estimate for any larger jobs that may be required.
